WMD just a convenient excuse for war, admits Wolfowitz
"The Bush administration focused on alleged weapons of mass destruction as the primary justification for toppling Saddam Hussein by force because it was politically convenient, a top-level official at the Pentagon has acknowledged." Wolofowitz admits excuses for war a rouse Not suprised. Are you? Are you going to hold anyone accountable for this? Or is your day filled with flag waving patriotic hyperbole and you would rather not be bothered with consequences. Also from Salon.
(I was asked recently to quit sending links from Salon because you have to register. Same thing with the NYT and the Washington Post. Get over it. They are all great web news references and make a great effort at providing decent online news. If you don't want to register, don't. Get your news from Yahoo and AP. But as a tip, the NYT and Washington Post are free and very innocuous registrations. Salon has two options - the day pass (free) and a paid subscription. ( I have been a paid subscriber to Salon for a couple of years now and must say that is it one of the most diverse and deep web sites available to paid members and totally worth $20.00 or so that it costs. Don't buy three packs of smokes and subscribe to Salon - that is my advice.))
